Don't buy real estate in Los Angeles, California!

I don’t know about you, but the thought of earthquakes, droughts, floods, tsunamis, mudslides, sinkholes, and wildfires scare me beyond belief.  If I could choose anywhere in the United States to buy a home, the place I would avoid the most would be Los Angeles, California.  The city has experienced more of these kinds of natural disasters than I can even comprehend.

The San Andreas and San Jacinto Faults run through Riverside County, among MANY others, which makes earthquakes a common place “thing” to happen in the city of LA.

Mapreport.com shows all of the natural disasters that have happened in California in a timeline form.  It also includes disasters such as airplane crashes, environmental spills, and health disasters like a breakout of Mumps.  Oh my gosh!  I don’t think I will ever go to LA again!  There are so many people living in the area and with such a high potential for disasters, there is also a high potential for deaths due to the disasters.  If you ever consider buying a home in the LA area, I hope you are prepared to pay ridiculous amounts of money for natural disaster insurance, because the potential for damage or loss of your home is very high!

I don’t think there really is anyplace in the world that is immune from natural disasters.  Even here in Elko, we have experienced earthquakes, floods, droughts, and wildfires.  But, I will keep my wide open spaces and rarely occurring natural disasters!
